iPhone Application Recommendations

Despite my previous o2 troubles, I have been able to download some iPhone apps and give them a bit of play-time. There are lots more I have yet to use, most aren’t relevant to me, but I thought I would share my recommendations so far. Check them out and add yours in the comments! (more…)

Charlie and The Carsonified Golden Ticket

Wait…I’m not Charlie, I’m Mike! However, the folks over at Carsonified are holding a “golden ticket” competition for one person to get free access to all Carsonified events in 2009, one of which is all-expense paid. (more…)

o2 FAIL [updated with WIN]

Last week I received a 3G iPhone from Lift, connected to the business account. The iPhone is great, but I have to say I am majorly disappointed with o2’s incompetence on one really simple task: Number transfer. (more…)

Oxford Geek Night #8

Last week, OGN#8 rocked on through the night with a musical theme. Actually, it lasted until about 10:50pm when all the talks were done and people started heading home… Despite the lack of an all-night “rock-a-thon”, the evening was filled with some great talks. (more…)

I have been playing with it for a few days and I am quite happy with it, so far. (more…)

UK Lagging in Tech

I was reading the blog of Christopher Hamilton, via zen habits, and came across a post about the lack of major UK tech businesses. As I said in my comment, there’s plenty of interest, with web development, pc repair/custom building and such all over the place, so why are none of them doing anything cool? (more…)

Young Tech Warriors

I first started programming when I was 11, Visual Basic in school, playing with BYOND DM code at home and a little bit of HTML here and there. Matt, my eldest, younger brother is 12 and has not long been messing with BYOND himself. While I am happy to help him out and get him on the right track, I have already looked into getting him a decent PC so he can start “proper” programming, I’ve been told his school work has dropped in progress. (more…)
