The Dark Knight
On Thursday (24th) last week I went to see The Dark Knight, the latest in the Batman series. I have yet to see Batman Begins so this was my first look at the revival of Batman movies, and with the high acclaim it has I was very excited. I’ll just say it: This is an excellent movie! (more…)

Last night (Wednesday) I went to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with Sasha and her family. While the original movies weren’t a huge influence in my childhood, I was excited to see this having recently watched 2 of the the original 3. I was not disappointed! (more…)

Transformers Movie
I grew up playing with Transformers, some of my favourite times were spent acting out battles that would jump from high speed chases to giant robots fighting on the end of my bed. I watched the cartoons as well, though not as heavily as I would have liked back then (pfft, parents!). Here’s my brief and spoiler-free review of the first live action movie. (more…)
The Golden Compass
Wow, I only just found out about it from Sasha, but apparently there is a movie adaptation of “Northern Lights” by Philip Pullman (known as “The Golden Compass” in the US). It’s slotted for a Decemeber 2007 release, and it looks pretty good. Some of the characters don’t seem quite as I had imagined them, but I suppose it’s been a while since I read it. I’m re-reading it now to remind myself. (more…)
