I Bought a DS!
On Thursday, after work, I met up with Sash to travel back home together. On impulse, we stopped by GAME and picked up a White DS Lite and Pokemon Diamond
. Finally, a new toy to play with! (more…)
Beyond Good & Evil 2 Teaser Trailer
At last we have a teaser trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2! After playing the excellent original on the PS2 I have been waiting for the sequel to surface. As Xbox 360 Fanboy reports, a teaser trailer has been released by Ubisoft which shows Pey’j and a glimpse of Jade waiting next to a broken down car. Embed and thoughts below. (more…)
CoD4 Respawn = Crap
For x-mas last year I received Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360, and since then I have completely the game several times over, gotten all the achievements and I am now playing through prestige mode in multiplayer. I love this game, I enjoy playing it almost as much as I enjoy playing CS:S. But I have a problem with multiplayer respawn: it SUCKS. (more…)
Mini-Reviews of My Christmas Games
For Christmas, my lovely girlfriend bought me three excellent games for my Xbox 360. Call of Duty 4, Assassin’s Creed and Crackdown are all I have been playing since Christmas, doing pretty much everything I can (getting achievements)! In the interest of mixing up the topics here at akamike, here’s my brief take on each game. (more…)
How to Kill A Brand
I know I try to avoid doing video and image posts, but this is just too good to leave out. The guys over at Sarcastic Gamer have released another video, “How to Kill A Brand“, a satire of Sony and the PS3. It’s awesome, really well made. Click the link to check it out, or read on for an embed. (more…)
Xbox 360 Achievements
The 360 has a system know as Gamerscore, a count of the points you have amassed from playing games. Upon completing, you get a little message to congratulate you and the points are added to your account. It’s an excellent system but, as rothbart (Sarcastic Gamer) points out, it is not without it’s flaws and annoyances. (more…)

Werewolf - Join the hunt
Trihan, over at GamingW, scripted an IRC bot for the text game Werewolf. If you already have a client, jump over to irc.whahay.net and join #werewolf (or even stop by #akamike). We also have a special day on Wednesday (20/06/07), but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t visit any other day! Read on for the basic game rules, as well as some resources on IRC. (more…)
Pacman’s Skull
So several blogs have posted about this already, but I thought I’d share it here as well! Created by Le Gentil Garcon, along with Francois Escuilie in 2002 (Why is this only surfacing now?), it’s pretty much a study of skulls to create a realistic version of what Pacman’s skull would be like.
Introducing, Pacman’s Skull:

Game Prototyping Tiles

“These are Lowest Common Denominator graphics. I put the challenge to myself: “What is a graphical style that is attractive, but are useful to both the widest range of developers and game genres?” Here’s what I came up with for an answer.”
For all you indie games developers out there, check these graphics out for use when developing a prototype. Very handy :)
