Daxflame and YouTube

A while back I checked out Daxflame’s videos, after hearing about him from various people. I found his videos funny and interesting, and I was unsure whether or not he was fake. Now, by that I mean he was either real and this whole “daxflame is fake” thing is just fabricated (very well i might add), he is an actor which leaves me questioning what the movtives behind the videos are, or he is real but chooses to go by a different name (protection of his real identity or something). To be honest, I don’t care. I enjoy watching his videos, though the quality has been dropping recently. (more…)

I’ve been asked, and sometimes frowned upon, for my habits in mass faving web designs on DA. It’s not a major issue but I thought I should address it. (more…)

R.I.P Aereogramme

Source: Aereogramme Myspace Blog

It is with heavy hearts that we tell you all that Aereogramme have decided to split up. Reasons are multiple and complex. The Gods of HCI Smiled at Me

Just a smile. No enlightenment, no redemption, no whispering words of wisdom in my ear. Just a smile to make me feel better about the exam and get through it.

Translation: Yeah, it went alright!

Now for a couple of days not thinking about Uni so I can work on other things, like GWR, chix0r’s design contest or my new project starting tomorrow (hopefully). I also plan on making some free to use wordpress themes, so keep an eye out for those.

Or maybe I will just play some games!

Game Prototyping Tiles

Lost Garden via Kotaku

“These are Lowest Common Denominator graphics. I put the challenge to myself: “What is a graphical style that is attractive, but are useful to both the widest range of developers and game genres?” Here’s what I came up with for an answer.”

For all you indie games developers out there, check these graphics out for use when developing a prototype. Very handy :)

Phoenix Laptop, City of Heroes and Exams

Phoenix Laptop: So my laptop died, but from it’s ashes comes a clean slate. I am in the process of moving my backed up files back over to the fresh XP install so it is a good time to do some “spring cleaning”. Thanks Ubuntu Live CD for saving my ass! (more…)

Gaming Parents

I was going through some digg posts that I bookmarked to check later, and I came across one about “The Impact of Being a Gaming Parent”. As politicians, reglious groups and even a few crackpots have pushed the idea of video games being bad for children, inducing violent behaviour and such, one mother shares her story of how gaming has helped build a strong, close relationship with her gamer son. I applaud the poster, and I am sure you will too. (more…)
